Welcome to the official guide for setting up Ledger Live® — the powerful software companion for your Ledger hardware wallet. Whether you’re managing crypto, staking, buying assets, or exploring Web3, Ledger Live gives you full control. This guide helps you get started quickly and securely.
Ledger Live® is an all-in-one application that allows you to manage your crypto portfolio directly from your computer or mobile device. It supports sending and receiving assets, buying and swapping crypto, staking, installing apps, and accessing dApps — all while your private keys remain safely stored inside your Ledger hardware wallet.
To get started, visit the official Ledger Live page:

to avoid fake appsPlug in your Ledger Nano S Plus, Nano X, or Stax device via USB or Bluetooth (Nano X). Follow the on-screen prompts to connect and verify your device:
Ledger Live will check the firmware version and allow you to update if needed. Always keep firmware up to date for maximum protection.
Once your device is connected:
💡 Each coin has its own blockchain app and separate address. Be sure to only send funds to addresses of the correct type.
To receive crypto:
Never trust the screen alone — hackers can spoof what’s shown in the app. Always verify using your device.
Ledger Live will alert you if your device firmware or apps need updates. These updates are signed by Ledger and verified on-device to prevent tampering.
Your Ledger device contains a certified secure chip (CC EAL5+) that prevents key extraction even under physical attacks.
Enable advanced “hidden wallets” with a passphrase. This adds an extra layer of security but must be remembered — losing it means losing access to the wallet it protects.
Buy crypto directly inside Ledger Live using third-party providers like MoonPay or Transak. Your crypto is sent directly to your Ledger account — not an exchange.
Use the “Swap” tab to trade tokens without leaving the app. Swaps are fast, secure, and powered by partners such as Changelly or Paraswap.
Stake assets like Ethereum (ETH), Tezos (XTZ), and Cosmos (ATOM) to earn passive rewards while keeping control of your private keys.
Ledger Live is also available for iOS and Android. Use Bluetooth on the Nano X or connect with OTG cable on Android for full functionality. The mobile version supports:
Your Ledger device does not store crypto — it stores private keys. If your device is lost, stolen, or reset, you can restore access using your 24-word recovery phrase.
Warning: Never enter your recovery phrase on a website or computer. Only type it directly into the Ledger device.
